A Mothers Love

A MOTHERS LOVE – A doe and her fawn develop a close relationship until the young are weaned, an approximately three-month period characterized by careful protection from predators. The fawn spend most of that time hiding in the woods or brush, visited by the mother for feedings three or four times daily.  Animal preservation is something that I am very passionate about and the maternal nature is something I can resonate with having had four children myself.  The colour palette I’ve chosen to use here, brings me a feeling of calm, and the addition of a few snow drops with the pink and yellow ochre brings a little romance to the painting.

I have created a print run of 100 limited editions which are signed and numbered by me. They are lovingly printed on Hahnemulhe Photo Rag paper 308gsm.
